heading: How does it work?

If you're 16 or over and live in the UK,
you can register to join our panel. After registering you will receive our email newsletters with details of new surveys - for answering a few questions, you'll be entered into free prize draws! Your personal details will never be passed to a survey sponsor without your express consent. Survey results are used for research which are then made available to 3rd parties such as the media.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following list is made up of questions we are commonly asked. If you cannot see the answer to your questions here, please fill in the form on the contact us page - we will endeavor to respond to any questions or concerns you may have within 2 working days.

Since the new site launch, I see ‘access denied’ when I try and log in - why is that?

Tickbox.net recently launched a new site, and we moved over to a completely new system. As part of the migration to our new database, we removed users that had unsubscribed from Tickbox.net.

You may have unsubscribed from our mailing list at some point if you didn’t want to receive the email newsletter any longer. Even if you did ask to be removed from the mailing list, you were still able to log in with the old site, and still able to complete surveys. If you’re details used to work on the old site, but not on the new site, it's likely that this is the reason.

We would still love to have you on our panel however, and ask that you please re-register with us.

I’ve registered, but I still can’t log in - why is that?

When you first register, you will be sent two welcome emails from us - the first one will have details about your account (username and password etc.) and the second will contain a link to the profile survey. You must complete this profile survey in order to activate your account. As soon as you’ve finished the survey, you will be able to log in, and take part in all our other surveys.

I didn’t receive the second email with the link to the profile survey, how can I complete my registration?

If you didn’t receive the second email, or if you think that you’re email account has blocked the email, or has deleted it thinking it might be spam, then please contact us at info@tickbox.net and we will send you the link again.

My postcode isn’t accepted in the profile survey, and I can’t continue - what should I do?

The list of postcodes is always growing and changing, so if you find that the profile survey won’t let you continue because it does not recognise your postcode, please let us know by emailing info@tickbox.net, so that we can add it to our list.

How can I participate?

To become a member, complete the registration form and we’ll send you two emails explaining how to activate your account. One of the emails will contain a link to a profile survey - it only takes a few minutes, then you can get cracking with those surveys. Please note, you cannot log into the site until you have completed this profile survey. If you think that you’re email account has blocked the email, or has deleted it thinking it might be spam, then please contact us at info@tickbox.net and we will send you the link again.

What happens when I don’t participate?

If your account remains inactive for six months, we will send you an email asking you if you still wish to be a member. If you do not reply, we will de-activate your account, and you will no longer be able to take part in the surveys.

What happens to my data?

Details such as your name, address and email address are so we have a record should we need to contact you if you win. None of your information is viewed by any third party and is fully protected by our privacy policy)

The surveys are not opening properly, what could be the problem?

The surveys open into another browser page; if the survey is not visible immediately, you may need to switch over to the new window.

If that is not the case, it may be that the software you have installed on your computer is not fully compatible with our own. We recommend that you use one of the latest browers available; they are more secure and will come with all the plug-ins needed to run our surveys. You can download a new browser free by clicking here.

What are my chances of winning?

On average we get between 1,000 and 1,500 entries per survey so there is a one - in - 1,500 chance of winning something (if there is only 1 prize per survey!) so your chances are pretty high!

How many people are on this panel?

We currently have over 50,000 users on Tickbox.net from all over the UK.

There isn’t a relevant option for me to select in a survey - why is this?

It may be that we have outdated information regarding your age or area for example so you can view a survey that is not relevant to you.

On all surveys there is either the option to declare you are not suitable for the survey or we include options such as ‘None of the above’ to make sure you are not pressured (meaning our research is unbiased). If you come across a survey where you fell this is not the case, please do let us know, by emailing us at errorreport@tickbox.net.

How do I go about getting my friends involved?

If you know anyone that you think will like to take part in the surveys, then you can refer them to us.
